BABCP (Accredited) B.Sc, PG. Dip.
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and hold provisional accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I have over 8 years of experience working with people with a variety of difficulties including depression, generalised anxiety, worry, stress, phobias, panic, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and low self-esteem.
CBT is a highly effective and evidenced based therapy and explores the relationship between thoughts; feelings and behavior to understand what is maintaining our difficulties and keeping us feeling stuck. I believe, if we can understand and make sense of our difficulties and the cycles we may be caught up in, we can start to look at how to break these by challenging unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, whilst learning some helpful strategies and techniques along the way. CBT is a relatively short-term and focused therapy and teaches you to become your own therapist so you can build coping skills for the future.
If you want to find out more then please email me or call me with any initial questions and we can set up an initial session to discuss what you are hoping to get from therapy. If after our initial session I feel I may not be the right therapist for you, I can give you further information on other services/types of therapy I think may be better suited to your needs. In this instance, I will not charge for the session.
